A significant number of people living with diabetes could lose Medicaid coverage due to work requirements and cost-sharing changes in West Virginia and other states, according to data from the American Diabetes Association. Trooper, Virginia man injured after UTV collides with police car

DORTON, Ky. — A Kentucky State Police trooper and another man were injured early Saturday morning when a utility terrain vehicle collided with his cruiser in the Dorton community. The Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team has been requested by Post 9 in Pikeville to investigate the collision, which occurred around 1:20 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22. Pike couple charged in child abuse case

Kirt Ramey and Teonna McNuttPIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County couple has been indicted on charges of child abuse. Kirt Ramey, 30, of Steele, and Teonna McNutt, 24, of Lick Creek, are each charged with first-degree abuse of a child 12 or younger. The indictment gives no details on the nature of the alleged abuse, but says it occurred between March 5 and 21. If convicted, each charge carries a potential sentence of 10-to-20 years in prison. Pike duo to plead guilty in federal drug case

Wayne Buzard and Cathy McKinneyLONDON, Ky. — Two Pike County residents intend to enter guilty pleas in a federal drug conspiracy case within the next week. Wayne Buzzard, 57, of Zebulon Highway, and Cathy McKinney, 54, of Island Creek, were arrested in March as part of a roundup by Pikeville Police. The following month, they were indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of conspiracy to distribute meth and possession of meth with the intent to distribute. Cox awarded ‘Vision of Hope’ scholarship from KYCO, VSP Vision
