VOLLEYBALL: PANTHERS KNOCK DOWN TIGERS & OTHER AREA SCORES
The Pikeville Lady Panthers protected their home court Monday night, taking down the Paintsville Lady Tigers 3-1 in a hard-fought volleyball match. Pikeville claimed the win with set scores of 26-16, 20-25, 26-24 and 25-22. Junior Kyla Lee paced the Lady Panthers on offense, finishing with seven kills and three aces. For the season, Lee has totaled 37 kills, averaging just over one per match. Senior Carly May anchored the defense, posting 12 blocks to go along with her team-leading 94 kills and 36 blocks on the year. Wildcats Rally in Round Two, 18 to Play at Bearcat Invitational
Press Release Per UK Athletics CINCINNATI – The Kentucky men’s golf team is in 11th place after day one of play at the Bearcat Invitational, going 6-over par as a team through the first 36 holes at Coldstream Country Club (par 71, 7279 yards). After carding 291 (+7) in the opening round, the Wildcats shaved eight shots on their second loop around the course, turning in a 1-under par effort of 283. The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award is presented annually to the nation’s most outstanding Division I offensive player who graduated from a Texas high school or plays at a four-year college in Texas.
