LOUISA, Ky. — A Virginia man and woman traveling between two states where marijuana is legal ran out of luck as they drove through Kentucky early Thursday morning, when they were arrested after police found duffel bags filled with marijuana in their trunk. WISE, Va. — The Commonwealth’s Attorney for Wise County and the city of Norton is warning retailers that certain kratom-related products are illegal under Virginia and federal law and that violations could result in criminal prosecution. Commonwealth’s Attorney Brett Hall announced the warning Friday, saying local store owners, managers and employees had been notified of the restrictions. LOGAN, W.Va. — Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College has received a nearly $3 million Strengthening Institutions Program grant from the U.S. Department of Education to improve student success in nursing and allied health programs.
