PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky State Police Post 9 successfully concluded Operation Mountain Justice, an operation targeting suspected drug trafficking networks operating throughout the Post 9 district. The operation resulted in 28 arrests, 54 total criminal charges, and the seizure of illegal drugs with a street value totaling more than $102,000. Post 9 troopers and detectives participated in the coordinated enforcement effort, which led to the seizure of approximately 4.7 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, 130 grams of suspected fentanyl, three firearms and approximately $1,500 in cash. McROBERTS, Ky. — One Letcher County man is in the hospital and another is in jail, following a shooting on Sheas Fork at McRoberts. Troopers responded to the scene just after 4 p.m. Monday and located an adult male suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel before being transported to Whitesburg ARH Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
