Pikeville High gets ready for finals with ‘Panthers PJ’s & Prep Night’
PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Pikeville High School helped make studying for semester-ending tests fun Tuesday, with Panthers PJ’s and Prep Night. Martin Earns First Win as Betsy Layne Knocks Off Pike Central
Head Coach Nathan Martin made an immediate statement Tuesday night, guiding Betsy Layne to a 54-51 win over Pike Central at the Hawks Nest. The victory marked Martin’s first game as head coach of the Bobcats, who entered the night riding a three-game losing streak. Pike man charged with burglary for staying in apartment after resident went to rehab
PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County man is facing criminal charges after he remained in an apartment after the resident went to rehab, while also using the man’s car and debit cards. Pikeville Police were contacted Tuesday by the housing manager of Ridge Cliff Apartments after she noticed a man staying in an apartment, even though she hadn’t seen the resident in over a week. Paintsville Cruises Past Russell Behind Kinner’s 30
The Paintsville Lady Tigers picked up a convincing 58-35 win over Russell at home Tuesday night. Paintsville had two players finish in double figures, led by dual-sport standout Kylie Kinner. Kinner put together a big night, scoring 30 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. She was efficient from the floor, shooting 71.4 percent, knocked down 50 percent of her shots from beyond the arc, and went 9-for-13 at the free-throw line.
