Martin County man pleads guilty to federal drug charge
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A Martin County man has pleaded guilty to a federal drug charge in Huntington, W.Va. Kody Harless, 26, of Tomahawk, pleaded guilty on Monday to possession of fentanyl with the intent to distribute. Officials say Harless obtained 4.75 grams of fentanyl from a source in Huntington. He was arrested in a traffic stop afterward and reportedly admitted to police that he had intended to distribute some of the drug. Pound woman admits distributing cocaine, psilocin
ABINGDON, Va. — A Wise County woman has agreed to plead guilty to federal charges of distributing cocaine and psilocin. Emily Dawn McCoy, of Pound, has signed a plea agreement admitting to the charges. In a signed statement stipulating to the facts in the case, McCoy admitted to working with others to acquire and distribute the drugs from February to September of last year. Investigators used undercover informants to buy cocaine from her five times, also obtaining psilocin on one of those occasions. Police: Man arrested after repeatedly making false reports
COAL RUN VILLAGE, Ky. — A Pike County man was arrested on a felony charge, after he allegedly made false reports to police repeatedly. A Coal Run Police officer responded to the Daniel Boone Motor Inn around 5:30 Monday evening, after Ryan Jay Cornwell, 45, of Pikeville, reported someone trying to break into his room. The officer found no evidence of a break-in and left, but Cornwell called back an hour later to report someone trying to break into his room again. Knott man sentenced for meth trafficking
PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Knott County man will spend more than a decade in prison, after pleading guilty to a federal drug charge. Danny Slone, 53, of Pippa Passes, pleaded guilty in August to distributing more than 50 grams of meth. According to his plea agreement, Slone sold meth to an undercover informant on four occasions, from July to September of 2024. In Lexington federal court on Monday, a judge sentenced him to serve 150 months in prison. Slone is currently being held in the Pike County Detention Center, awaiting transfer to the federal prison system.
