Paintsville clinic owner found guilty in federal drug trial

FRANKFORT, Ky. — The son of a former Paintsville doctor who pleaded guilty to a federal drug charge in 2024 now has a criminal conviction of his own, after a jury found him guilty of all charges in a federal drug trial. Jeremy Bryson was found guilty conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, conspiracy to use the DEA registration of another, monetary transaction derived from unlawful activity and six counts of distributing controlled substances on Wednesday, following an eight-day trial in Frankfort. Clintwood Fire Department contains apartment fire on Caney Ridgeby RODERICK MULLINS CLINTWOOD, Va. — Clintwood Fire Department personnel were notified on Wednesday of a reported apartment fire on Caney Ridge within the department’s first due area. The first arriving unit at the apartment fire located on DC Caney Ridge road reported moderate smoke showing from the second division of the apartment building and based on the conditions, countywide alert tones were activated to bring in additional manpower from surrounding agencies. Lexington man charged with supplying fentanyl to East Ky. dealers

Ramando "Scoop" Taylor Jr.LONDON, Ky. — A Lexington man has been arrested on allegations he was the source supplying fentanyl dealers across Eastern Kentucky. Ramando “Scoop” Taylor Jr., 27, is charged with distributing more than 40 grams of fentanyl and conspiracy. Hazard Police Captain James Grigsby, who serves on a DEA task force, was among the investigators on the case and presented it to obtain arrest and search warrants. Grigsby says in his affidavit that Taylor was first identified as a fentanyl supplier to Perry and Breathitt counties from information obtained by informants and cooperating defendants. Martin County man gets more than 8 years for part in Huntington drug ring

Kody HarlessHUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A Martin County man has been sentenced to more than eight years in prison for his part in a drug distribution network in Huntington. Kody Harless, 28, of Tomahawk, pleaded guilty back in November to possession of fentanyl with the intent to distribute. With his plea, he admitted to obtaining nearly 5 grams of fentanyl from a source in Huntington, and that he intended to sell some of it.
